This is the first story I wrote as a freelance writer for CultureMap Austin. When I first decided to start freelance writing, I thought I would be too rusty to turn out something that would be worth publishing. Imagine my surprise when I learned this story gained over 24,000 views within the first 48 hours! It was the highest performing CultureMap story for the entire month of October. I was so proud of myself for turning out such a popular story as my first piece of freelance work.
